Amish Cinnamon Bread

This bread is so soft and Amazing. Crunchy top moist and cinnamony..


  1. For the batter :
  2. 1/2 cup butter – softened
  3. 1 cup sugar
  4. 1 egg
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  6. 1 cup buttermilk or 1 cup milk plus 1 Tablespoon vinegar
  7. 2 cup flour
  8. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  9. Cinnamon sugar:
  10. 1/3 cup sugar
  11. 1 teaspoon cinnamon


  1. Cream butter sugar vanilla extract egg Add milk flour baking soda mix well
  2. Pour 1/2 of the batter into a greased loaf pan In a separate bowl Mix 1/3 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon To create the cinnamon sugar mixture
  3. Sprinkle 3/4 of cinnamon sugar mixture onto the 1/2 full pan Add remaining batter to pan Sprinkle with rest of cinnamon sugar on top
  4. Swirl batter using a knife Bake at 350º for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean Let cool in pan for about 20 minutes before removing from pan
