Beef Braciole

Braciole is an Italian stuffed beef dish. One of my favorites! It s crazy good! Recipe is from my mother and grandmother.

  1. 2 lbs beef sirloin tip steak sliced thin (about 6 pieces)
  2. 1 jar your favorite tomato sauce
  3. 1 lb whatever shape pasta you prefer
  4. 6 slices mozzarella cheese
  5. 6 toothpicks
  6. For the filling:
  7. 4 hard boiled eggs finely chopped Food processor works nicely for this
  8. 1/2 cup Italian style breadcrumbs
  9. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  10. 4 cloves garlic finely chopped
  11. 2 TBS olive oil
  12. 1 raw egg (to hold filling together)
  1. First prepare the filling by combining all ingredients and mixing well with your hands It should be somewhat pasty and sticking together
  2. Next lay out the 6 pieces of beef and put a slice of mozzarella in the center of each piece Top the mozzarella with 1/6 of the prepared filling
  3. Roll up the steak longways and secure with a toothpick
  4. Place the 6 rolled-up steaks in a baking dish and cover with tomato sauce and more Parmesan cheese if desired
  5. Cover with aluminium foil and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes
  6. Prepare pasta according to package directions
  7. Remove braciole to a serving dish and use the remaining tomato sauce for the pasta
