Beef Stroganoff

I was looking for an easy slow cooker recipe that didn t call for cream of yuck soup. I found this recipe at www.fivehearthome.com/2014/01/25/slow-cooker-beef-stroganoff-no-cream-of-x-soup/
With a slight adjustment this recipe was a great fit for my family.

  1. slow cook ingredients
  2. 2 lb stew meat
  3. 12 oz mushroom
  4. 2 tbsp minced fresh garlic
  5. sauce ingredients
  6. 1 1/2 cup beef stock
  7. 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  8. 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  9. 2 tbsp red wine
  10. 1 tsp parsley
  11. 1 tsp garlic powder
  12. 1/2 tsp onion powder
  13. 1/2 tsp thyme
  14. 1/4 tsp paprika
  15. 6 tbsp cornstarch
  16. add 30 minutes before serving
  17. 4 oz cream cheese
  18. 1/2 cup sour cream
  1. Add stew meat mushrooms and minced garlic to crock pot
  2. Combine beef stock dijon mustard red wine Worcestershire sauce garlic powder onion powder parsley thyme and paprika
  3. Add corn starch to the sauce and mix
  4. Add sauce to crock pot and stir
  5. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours
  6. About 30 minutes before serving add cream cheese and allow to melt for 10 minutes then stir to mix
  7. Stir in sour cream Continue cooking for 20 minutes or until completely hot
  8. Serve over spiral or egg noodles
