Bread Pakora

Spicy hot bread pakoras are great as an appetizer..


  1. 6 Bread Slices of
  2. 1 Cup Besan (Gramflour)
  3. 1 Tablespoon Rice Flour
  4. 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seed
  5. 1/4 Cup Cilantro (finely chopped)
  6. 1 Pinch Asafoetida
  7. 2 Green Chillies
  8. to taste Salt
  9. Water
  10. Oil for frying


  1. Remove the crust from all sides of the bread Slice the bread into 2 equal parts
  2. Mix all the dry ingredients: besan rice flour cumin asafoetida and salt
  3. Add the water slowly to make a smooth batter (like dosa batter)
  4. Add green chillies and finely chopped cilantro to the above mix Mix well
  5. Heat the oil in a frying pan on medium high heat
  6. Dip the bread slices one at a time and slowly drop into the oil
  7. Fry the pakoras for 4-5 minutes
  8. Turn the pakoras occasionally Fry the pakoras until both sides are golden brown
