Korean Beef Rice Bowl

Pretty easy, no real hard to find ingredients for most people.
This is not a real strong flavored Korean style dish. Most people should like this one. I have a tendency toward the stronger and hotter styles, but not my wife. This is a decent way to allow many to enjoy this type of flavor profile, and by adding some hot sauce, each individual can tailor it to their own heat level.

  1. Main
  2. 1 pound ground beef (i like 85/15 fat ratio)
  3. 3 garlic cloves
  4. 1-2 tablespoons oil
  5. 2 medium carrots
  6. 1/4-1/2 medium onion
  7. Sauce
  8. 1/4 cup light brown sugar or raw sugar
  9. 1/4 cup soy sauce
  10. 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  11. 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  12. 1/4-1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  13. 2-4 green onions (scallions)

  15. sesame seeds to garnish if desired
  16. something to serve it on rice noodles salad or lettuce wrap
  1. Dice garlic
  2. Add oil from main to a wok/stir-fry/skillet heat on medium
  3. Add garlic to hot oil
  4. Change Stir for 15 seconds add ground beef stir
  5. Change While the ground beef is cooking mix all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl
  6. Change Grate or small dice the carrots and onion
  7. Change I prefer to use one of these choppers It ends up the perfect size
  8. Change When the meat is about half cooked add the carrots and onions stir
  9. When the meat and veggies are cooked cut the green onions into 1/2 inch pieces
  10. Change Add the green onions and sauce to the meat
  11. Stir and let cook for 3 minutes until it is to your liking Check the sauce level (how liquid) for how you are serving it
  12. Change Served over rice typically but you dont have to limit yourself Noodles work well also as does salad lettuce wraps etc
