My Mom's Homemade Bread Pudding

My Mother makes a very good bread pudding. I hope you try it.


  1. 8 slices whole hotdog buns or 1 loaf bread
  2. 1 stick butter
  3. 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  4. 6 large eggs
  5. 1 quart milk
  6. 1-1/2 cup raisins
  7. 1-1/2 cup sugar
  8. 2 teaspoon ground nutmeg


  1. Preheat oven 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Butter the bread and toast in oven
  3. Mix the milk sugar and eggs
  4. Cut the bread into cubes put into a large bowl
  5. Pour the milk mixture over the cubed toasted bread Add all the other ingredients except the cinnamon and nutmeg
  6. As the bread softens and absorbs the liquids add half the cinnamon
  7. Mix then add the rest of the cinnamon Pour into a 9×13 baking pan
  8. Sprinkle the ground nutmeg over the top
  9. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes
  10. Uncover the bread pudding and put back into the oven and bake 20-25 minutes
  11. Serve hot warm or cold With whipped cream ice cream or plain
