Prawn Canapes

This is one of my favourite party starters. Bite sized canapes topped with spicy grilled prawns makes a perfect pair with any mocktail/cocktail.

Ingredients

  1. 4 tablespoons mayonnaise cheese low-fat / diluted spread
  2. 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  3. 2 tablespoons ginger garlic paste
  4. 1 tbsp garam masala
  5. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  6. 1 tsp chilli powder
  7. 1 tsp cumin powder
  8. 1 tsp corriander powder
  9. 4 whole wheat bread multigrain slices
  10. 30 prawns small peeled deveined
  11. to taste salt

Method

  1. Marinate prawns: Take cleaned prawns in a bowl and add ginger garlic paste all dry powders and lemon juice Mix well and keep it in refrigerator for 3-4 hrs
  2. Pre-heat the grill on high Grease the grill tray and place all the prawns on it Let it grill till they cook approx10-15 minutes
  3. Slice each bread piece into 4 bite sized squares
  4. Roast them on a skillet and top each slice with a thin layer of cheese spread/ mayonnaise
  5. Top the slices with grilled prawns and serve
  6. You may sprinkle some oregano over canapes
