Roasted Red Pepper & Roasted Garlic Hummus w/ Whole Wheat Pita Chips

I wanted to make a fresh hummus & pits chips with flavors I love using all natural ingredients & nothing processed. The tahini is imported from Beirut & the whole wheat pita bread is from a local bakery & I picked them both up from a Middle Eastern market along with the Sumac.


  1. 1 lb chick peas
  2. 1/3 cup tahini
  3. 1/2 cup water
  4. 1/3 cup olive oil extra virgin
  5. 6 clove fresh garlic
  6. 5 tbsp lemon juice
  7. 1 red pepper
  8. 1 pinch sumac
  9. 6 whole wheat pita bread


  1. Roast pepper amp garlic in the oven until cooked peel skin off pepper amp remove seeds amp stem
  2. Combine chick peas salt amp garlic in a food processor for 30 seconds Scrape down sides amp process for 30 more seconds
  3. Add water amp lemon juice amp process for 30 seconds
  4. Change Add tahini olive oil amp chopped up roasted red peppers amp process until mixture is smooth
  5. Sprinkle sumac for flavor amp garnish
  6. Change To make pita chips cut pita breads into chip size amp put on baking tray Drizzle lightly with olive oil amp sprinkle with salt amp bake in 400° preheated oven until browned
