Salt and Pepper Spinach Bread

Great for lunchtime sandwiches!


  1. 2 cups AP flour
  2. 1 1/4 cups warm water
  3. 1 1/2 Tbsp instant yeast
  4. 2 Tbsp honey or molasses
  5. 1 handful chopped spinach
  6. to taste salt and pepper


  1. Mix well the water and honey/molasses and heat to no more than 120 *F
  2. Change About a handful of spinach I chopped mine up
  3. Mix well the flour and yeast and then while mixing add in the spinach and then the water mixture
  4. Knead the dough or using a stand mixer work it for at least 5 minutes to develop the gluten
  5. Change In the oiled and corn meal dusted pan
  6. Change Let it double
  7. Bake at 375 *F until a thermometer in the middle reads 190 *F about 40 minutes
  8. I got the nice crust on the top by brushing with egg white and then playing it with a torch
