Super Easy Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

This is my go to recipe when we buy a couple large ribeye steaks and have a good amount left over..

  1. 3 Tablespoons cornstarch divided
  2. 2 tablespoons water
  3. 1/2 cup beef broth
  4. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  5. 1/2 teaspoon red chili paste or flakes
  6. 1 lb rib eye sliced into strips
  7. 2 tablespoons dark sesame oil divided
  8. 4 cups lightly steamed broccoli florets
  9. 1/2 onion cut into wedges
  10. 4-5 scallions sliced
  11. 2 cloves garlic minced
  12. 1/2 cup canned bamboo shoots drained
  13. 1/3 cup soy sauce reduce sodium
  14. 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  15. 1 tablespoon peeled minced ginger or 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  16. 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
  17. cooked white rice
  1. Mix 2 tablespoons cornstarch 2 tablespoons water garlic powder and chili paste until smooth and toss in sliced beef until coated
  2. In a large skillet or wok stir fry beef in a tablespoon of sesame oil on med high heat until desired doneness is nearly achieved remove from skillet set aside
  3. In the same skillet heat remaining sesame oil and stir fry onion and broccoli for 4-5 minutes add garlic and bamboo shoots stir fry a minute longer
  4. Add beef to skillet and warm through
  5. In a bowl combine 1 tablespoon cornstarch beef broth soy sauce brown sugar ginger scallions and toasted sesame seeds until combined **reserve a little but of scallion and sesame seeds for garnish
  6. Add mixture to skillet and stir until bubbly and thickened
  7. Add more chili paste or flakes at the end to taste Served over rice garnish with a little scallion and sesame seeds
