Unstuffed Cabbage and Beef

This is my modified version from Wheat Belly Cook Book
**Warning…this is not a replacement for stuffed cabbages! I think it needs more tomato flavor.

  1. 1 T EVOO
  2. 1 lb ground beef
  3. 1 small onion chopped
  4. 1 can (14 1/2 oz) crushed tomatoes
  5. 1/2 tsp sea salt
  6. 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  7. 1 small head green cabbage chopped (16 oz)
  8. 3/4 c water
  9. 1/2 c heavy whipping cream
  1. In large pot heat oil Brown beef and onions until beef is no longer pink and onions are translucent
  2. Stir in tomatoes salt and pepper Add coleslaw and water and mix well Reduce heat cover and simmer 20 min or until cabbage is done
  3. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream if using Taste for seasoning and add salt and pepper if desired
