[Vegan] French Toast

NOTE: Don t worry this is SO easy to find! It s sometimes called gram flour or besan flour and you can find it in most supermarkets (in the world food aisle), Asian markets or health food shops.


  1. 2 tablespoon Chickpea flour
  2. 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  3. 1/2 tablespoon mixed spice (or pumpkin pie spice mix)
  4. 1/2 cup rice milk (or dairy-free milk of choice)
  5. 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  6. 1 pinch salt
  7. 1 tablespoon vegan butter or mild-flavoured oil
  8. 4 thick slices of soft bread (white or wholegrain / gluten-free if neeed)


  1. Whisk the chickpea flour spices milk vanilla and salt together in a shallow container
  2. Gently heat the butter or oil in a skillet
  3. Dip a slice of the bread into the mixture and coat well on each side Place in the skillet and fry on medium heat for a minute on each side until golden brown
  4. Repeat with the other slices
  5. Serve with fruit maple syrup berries yoghurt and enjoy 🙂
