Wasabi Charlie Burgers

My mother used to make Charlie burgers (aka hot tuna sandwich) when I was a kid. Using wasabi cheese and crunchy wasabi onions I turned this fun summertime snack into a fall flavored treat.

  1. 1 loaf Whole Wheat Toast or Grain Bread
  2. bunch of Baby Spinache (about 5 pieces per slice of toast)
  3. 1 Sliced Wasabi Cheese (Costco carries it)
  4. 1 Sliced tomatoe (2-3 slices per piece of toast)
  5. 1 slice Lemon on the top of each Charlie Burger for garnish
  6. 1 sliced Avacado
  7. Tuna Mixings
  8. 4 can Tuna
  9. 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  10. 1/2 Jar Wasabi Onions
  11. 1 tbsp Relish
  12. 2 tbsp Mustard
  13. 1/4 cup Finely Chopped Celery
  14. tbsp Dry Dill
  15. Salt and Pepper
  16. 1 tsp Lemon Juice

  1. Take all ingredients for Tuna Mixings and stir together well in large bowl until completely combined
  2. Place Spinache leaves on toast
  3. Put 3 heaping spoonfuls of the tuna mixture on top of the spinache on toast
  4. Top with Wasabi cheese slices
  5. Top with tomatoe
  6. Place on cookie sheet at 350°F Fahrenheit for 30min or until cheese on top is melted and golden brown
  7. Once out of oven top with avacado slices and a slice of lemon
